  1. Outstanding job

Posted by Aaron Zendt on 7th Jul 2010

I asked Andrew to cut, crown, and thread a barrel for a Sterling SBR project I was working on. After providing him with perhaps the world's crappiest engineering diagram, and going over some alternative threading thoughts, he set to work.

The barrel I got back was amazing. The length was perfect, the crown on the barrel was better than the factory, and the threading was tight and clean. I am extremely happy with the end result, the price I paid, and the time it took to complete the project.

If you're wondering who to have that smithing work done by, look no more. Andrew is the guy to talk to. I'll be bringing him more work in the future.

  2. Shotgun Work

Posted by Wyatt on 6th Jul 2010

I needed an extractor fitted to my over/under, Andrew quoted me 35 bucks to do it so I brought it in. He's a really nice guy and the quality of his work REALLY shows. The new extractor looks a ton better than the original from the excellent machining job he did. It fits better than the original did! It ended up being a lot more work than he expected but he didn't ask for a dime over what he quoted me. He even went the extra mile to heat treat the extractor for me so it would have less chance of breaking later.

I can't stress enough how excellent his work is. He's got a customer for life and I know where to send friends who need work done.

    Thanks a lot Andrew!

  3. Awesome Experience

Posted by Cody Dickerson on 17th Jun 2010

I had Andrew install a quad rail and flash suppressor on my AR-15 upper, and fix a my attempt to install a single point sling adapter, where some how I managed to bend the detent spring. Andrew finshed the work while I waited and charged me a very reasonable price on his work. He even took time to explain the issues I had with my AR and corrected some mistakes that the original builder made. Thanks Andrew I will definetly be back.

  4. Great work!

    Posted by Epoch96 on 2nd Mar 2010

Just wanted to post a big +1 for Andrew at Atwell Tactical in Richardson.

I had Andrew do some work on one of my AR's and also on my Rem700. The trigger job on my PR stick is now ten times better than what some previous gunsmith had done to my trigger. Andrew also recrowned the barrel on the my 700 and I was really surprised to see how much off center the rifle bore was on a stock bull barrel.

Andrew also took the time to explain some of the physics behind to process which is refreshing from the normal, "Hand me your gun and money and leave me alone" smithy attitudes.

  5. M700 Custom work

Posted by Mike on 20th Feb 2010

I had several projects lined up and the first major one was to take a stock 700 SPS and turn it into a long range rifle. I had tons of questions and needed help deciding what would be the best way to do the project. Atwell's experience helped me make the right decisions on putting the rifle together. His customer service is second to none, excellent in every way. His work is also second to none. The rifle came out great and he did the work very fast. I took it to the range the day I picked it up and it is shooting 1/2 MOA groups. Couldn't ask for any more than that. He will be doing all my Gunsmithing work.

    They get all my business.

  7. M700 Work

Posted by Chad on 10th Jan 2010

I had Atwell thread a muzzle for a Vortex and install a Badger Bolt Knob.
His price was very competitive. He kept me advised of when the rifle arrived, the progress of my job, and even completed the job before his estimate. I was very pleased with the result and have no problem with recommending his work or using him for additional work in the future.
The work was very well done, and he took the time to explain how he would do the work and answered questions quickly.
I was completely satisfied with Atwell.

  8. Great service!

I've been to Atwell Tactical for several gunsmithing jobs and every time it was done on or before the promise date (or one time even while I waited!). The work is professionally done and you can't ask for better service.I've been to Atwell Tactical for several gunsmithing jobs and every time it was done on or before the promise date (or one time even while I waited!). 9. Very good service

Posted by Unknown on 10th Jan 2010

I had two firearms with problems. One was handled while I waited. The other issue was more involved so I had to leave that gun behind. The turn-around time for that project was much faster than I used to get from my old gunsmith. The price was very reasonable too. Pending the results of a range session, I am totally satisfied.
